To all-whom it may concern Beit known that I, WILLARD PERKINS; a
citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Alameda in the county of Alameda and State of. California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Rubber Heels and Soles, of which the tollowing is a speci- Heretofore in the manufacture of rubber heels. and soles it. has been usual to form the 'top surface or surface that lies next to the leather smooth or with/depressions in the central portions. In such construction when the rubber heel or sole is fastened on the shoe and the shoe is wornfor a few days theedges of the rubber portions that lie next to the rubber portions expand and do not go backinto place and the sides of the heel or sole present a rough appearance. In such construction it is also necessary to use cement in the first instance to make a good appearing joint at the junction of the rubber and leather portions. J
It is the object of my invention to provide a rubber heel or sole which canbe attached to the leather portions without the use of .ce-
ment and which when positioned for usewill retain its shape as to the appearance of I the sides of the heel or sole. 1 accomplish these objects by the, heel or'soledescribed herein.
