The present device muy be employed at various points along e railroad track, and is of advantage in several respects, us Will be obvious to those versed in the art,.and familiar with the circumstances. The device may be extended through bridges und tunnels. or along curves, of any length.

Haring thus described the invention, r-rlist is claimed :is new is The combination with e railroad track, of u `i'uurd :ind reruilirne; device including inner glnird rails disposed adjacent and parullel -witli the track rails und having their ends converging, outer guard rails disposed :uljaeent the outer sides of the truck rails und parallel therewith und haring their ends divergent, the guard rails being higher than the truck rails and lulvina their heads spaced above the treads or' the track rails, members disposed snugly between the diinfieles vel-gent end portions of the outer guard rails end the track rails,.supple1nentnl rails disposed snugly between the outer guard rails anditrack rails, und terminally abutting' against the linner ends of the said members, the said supplemental rails und inner end portions of the seid members being flush with the track rails, the outer ends of the said members being` inclined, iig-embers disposed between the converging' end portions of the inner guard rails und the track rails, .ne second mentioned members fitting snugly against the converging end portions of the inner guard rails und being spaced from the track mils and haring their outer ends inclined, spacers disposed between the truck ruils und the inner guard rails and between the truck rails :md the second mentioned members, und bolts engaged through the webs of the guard und track rails and through the said ineinbers and spacers.
