Be it known that we, JosErH S. KAu'rMAN and ISAAC KAUFMAN, citizens of the United. States, residing at Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Caps, of whichthe following is a specification.
This invention relates to bottle caps; and it has for its primary. object the provision of a device of this character. which will serve to completely close the upper end of.

The cap 1 herein illustrated is designed particularly for use upon milk bottles or the like for sealing the neck in such manner as to minimize the possibility of the elements entering the bottle .and mixing w1th, the

The cap may be tic material having a uniform thickness throughout and stamped or otherwise suitablyformed so as to provide amain crown 2 which overlies the' neck and which is extended into an elastic concavo-convex rim or flange 3. The constructiom of the device is such that while the operation of applying the device to the bottle is greatly facilitated the corners 10 of the extension 4 are disposed in positions normallly whereby to permit of their being engaged by the fingers of the hand and pressure of the hand applied thereto in an upper direction during the operation. of removing the cap from the bottle.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim is A bottle cap constructed of of sheet material provided with a crown having a depending normally concavo-convex'fiange provided with a pair. of spaced extensions, each of said extensions being weakened on an uneven number of lines which are disposed in converging relation in the direction of the edge'of the crown and which extend throughoutthe' width of the flange, each of said extensions being a single blank 7 the operation of removing the cap from the bottle or applying the same thereto.
