APPLIOATION FILED FBB.18,1914.

I FIG.|.
rains FFICE.
PUZZLE GAME.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOSHUA JEROME N 0RD- MAN, residing at l/Vexford, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, a citizen of the United States, have invented or discovered certain new and useful Improvements in Puzzle Games, of which improve= ments the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a puzzle game'consisting of a plurality of triangular blocks which may be arranged into various forms including all the letters of the alphabet, the digits and numerous regular and irregular designs.
In the practice of my invention I employ eleven triangular blocks of two sizes having definite geometrical relationship. The blocks are all right-angle isosceles triangles, five of them being of a larger size and siX of a smaller size, the hypotenuse of the smaller being of the same length as the leg of each larger triangle. The blocks may be made of any suitable material such as Wood, pasteboard, metal, etc.
In the accompanying sheet of drawings, forming part of my specification, I have illustrated in Figure 6 the form of the blocks, and in Figs. 1, figures and designs into which they may be arranged, the outline of the figures and designs being shown in full lines and the positions or adjacent faces of the several blocks being indicated in dotted lines.
The game may be'played by reference to a sheet or booklet showing figures, either in Specification of Letters Patent.
2, 3, 4 and 5 a number of the Patented Dec. 1,1914.
Application filed February 18, 1914. Serial No. 819,564.
simple outline or in solid color, which may be made of the full set of blocks, it being the object of the game to construct out of the blocks such figures as are thus represented.
In Fig. 6 of the sheet of drawings one of each size of blocks is shown in perspective, the larger sized block being illustrated at l and the smaller at 2. As will readily be observed, the leg 1 of the block 1 is of the same length as the hypotenuse 2 of the block 2.
In Fig. 1, including the first four lines of figures, all the letters of the alphabet are shown, while in Fig. 2, including the fifth and part of the sixth line, the digits are shown. In each of the letters and digits all of the eleven triangular blocks are employed. An almost unlimited number of irregular designs may also be made from the blocks, three of which are illustrated in Figs. 3, 4, and 5. I
I claim as my invention:
A puzzle game comprising a set of eleven blocks, each of which is a right-angle isosceles triangle, of which set five are of one larger size, and six of another smaller size, the hypotenuse of each of the six smaller being equal in length to the leg of each of the five larger triangles.
In testimony whereof I have set my hand.
JOSHUA JEROME N ORDMAN. lVitnesses:
PAUL N. Cnrromow, FRANCIS J. TOMASSON.
