This invention relates to new and useful improvements in propelling means for boats.
The objet-t of the invention is to provide a device ot' .this vpe which is simple in construction and in which a maximum amount ot the power is generated b v the drivinof engine or motor und is utilized in propel ing:r in power is accomplished as hereinafter described and elaimed.

The hull oi the boat vous-ists ot' a. bottom l, sides and an inclined rear end Pi which is sulliriently removed from the end of the bont to provide an inclosed space t'or the location ot' the propellers. The said vengine 4 is provided with a shaft 5 which extends through n suitable bearing G in the rear end of the hoat. Means are also provided for driving from the shaft 'l0 any auxiliary devices such as a dynamo or hilge pump. and which Consists of a drive pulley 25, sprocket chain .26 similar to the sproolietchain 17, and a sproeloft 27 mounted on 'the shaftl l0.
llvhilein the-'drmvings, I have shown my improved propeller as applied to a simple form oflat bottoni boat, it is to be under stood that this simplified hull .is shown merel vfor the purpose of illustration only, and t at the invention is adaptable to any well known' form of hull.
Having described my invention, what I' mounted within said inclosed s ace rea'rv wardly of said propeller and pa dle wheels 'mounted on o posite si es of said inclosed space, said pa die Wheels and impact wheels being fixed to a common shaft, and gearing by means of which the shaft of the ropeller is connected to the common shaflt 'of the impact and paddle wheels.
