iMPRovEMENT iN sHoEs.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it fina-y conce/rn Be it known that I, JOHN W. FISHER, of. Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Slipper or Low Shoes and I do herebydeolare that the following is a full, clear, and .exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying, drawing and to the'letters of reference marked thereon which form apart of this specication.
The nature'of my invention consists in a slipper soconstructed that it can be worn asa shoe, it' so desired.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its const-ruction and operation, referringto the annexed drawing,
which represents a side view of my improved slipper when worn as a shoe. l
A represents the upper of my slipper, which upper is extended farenongh up to cover the ankle in front. B is the back of the slipper, which also forms the sides thereof, and is sewed to the upper A from the point a downward to the sole, as shown.
The front ends'of ,the back B, fronrthe point a formal-d, form flaps C C,l with two or more holes for lacing across the upper portion of the upper A.
In this manner the slipper may be vused as a lace shoe; or, in place of lacing, these iiaps may have buttons and button-holes for bnttoning across the front rimes-ses:
