which. may be used tomassage the gums of the oral cavity to provide and stimulate healthy circulation of blood in the gums and by these means prevent and cure various dis eases of the gums including congested and receding gums.

Referring now to these figures, the holder A is in the form of a rod, the rear portion of which is bent back thereon in order to provide an open handle portion a, and the forward end of which is bent angularly and provided with a reduced laterally extendin shanka'. Loosely mounted onithe reduced shank a is a freely rotatable sleeve B, the
outer extremity of the shank havin a head a atthe outer end of this sleeve m order to confine the latter, and the inner end of thet-sleeve being provided with an annular flange b. 'With'the holder and massaging head constructed as shown and described, the implement may be conveniently and effectively used' for the purposes before mentioned, and may be readily and easily maintained in a sanitary condition; The. particular structure of the massaging head-C may, however, be varied in seeking to prevent or to cure particular diseases or conditions "of the gums, and maybe formed of various materials, either vulcanized rubber, guttapercha or celluloid being useful in certain cases, althoughfthe structure and material first mentioned is best adapted in the majority of cases and will be found to be satisfactory in practically all cases. The head .may also be in the form of a massaging brush of which there are Well knoyvn forms in use at present.
