I, THOMAS Braces GREGORY, of Champaign, in the county of Champaign and StateA of Illinois, have invented certain'Improvement-s in Adjustable Clamps for Bedsteads, ofwhich the following is a specifica- Ntttu're and Objects ofthe Invention;

'lhe nature of my invention relates tov a clamp, one `oiwvhich is attached to the side rails,*n'ear eachcorner, of any ordinary bedstead, and. isprovided `with 'a projecting socket, for supporting the Slat-bearers, or

One ofthe bearers, G, is placed at each end of th bedstead, and serve as bearers or supports for any ordinary bed-bottom, or for slats. L v

It will be plainly `seen that'either end of the bed bottom may be raised or lowered at pleasure by adjusting the position of the plates D on the plates C, and that the plate D will. be held securely and'iirmly by the ratchet-teeth on its inner face, engaging withthe teeth on the plate C, while the anges E will prevent any possibility. ofthe plates D slipping off the plates O laterally. i
