Be it known that l, FERDINAND TUREK, citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Beer-Coolers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to beer coolers, rerigerators and the like, and especially to a device for maintaining water at a certain height in the cooler.

It is designed as an improvement of the invention shown in my Patent No. 1,035,923, granted to me Aug. 20, 1912.

The object of the invention is to provide improved means for regulating the outflow of waste water resulting from the melting of ice in the cooler, the intent being to Amainotherwise.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which- Figure l is a sectional view of a cooler box. Fig. 2 is a detail in vertical ksection of the adjustable waste outlet.

12 is an adjustable pipe section which slides up and down in the pipe 11, with a water tight joint produced by the packing 13. The pipe 12 has at the top a flange 1,9 to prevent it dropping down too far and to enable it to be grasped yto be easily raised and lowered.

This is mounted at its lower end on the pipe 11, so that it will remain in position thereon, the bottom having holes 16 to permit inflow of water.V The top has holes la and also serves to prevent pieces of ice dropping into the shell 10. A pipe 15 is supported in the top of the casing 10, in po- Packingl 17 plate or false bottom fory sition above the pipe 12, and this pipe l5 may be connected to a drip pipe from the drippings pan 30 in the top of the counter or bar or otherwise arranged to receive the drippings from the bar.

In order for water to escape from the boX it must flow into the casing 1() and then down through the pipes l2 and l1, and obviously the height of water will be controlled by the height or adjustment of the pipe l2. rlhis may be regulated as desired, and as the water rises it will overflow into the pipe 12 and thence out to waste. The bar drippings through the pipe 15 will also drop into the waste pipe. Owing to the continual flow of water through the outlet devices the tendency of the pipes tobecome coated or clogged with slime from the bar drippings will be avoided, and small pieces o ice cannot enter and clog the outlet. B lifting the device and pulling out the plug at the bottom of the pipe 1l all the water in the box may be run off to waste.

l/Vhat I claim is:

1. An outlet device for'beer coolers or the like,` comprising an outlet pipe located in the bottom of the cooler and leading to a waste pipe therefrom, a perforated casing surrounding said pipe and having a top covering the'upper end thereof, and a drippings pipe supported by the top of said casing and' arranged to discharge into said pipe.

2. The combination with the box of a beer cooler or the like, and a Waste outlet in the bottom thereof, of a lower pipe section having a plug fitting in said outlet, an upper pipe section mounted on the lower pipe section and adjustable vertically to govern the depth oi water in the box, a perforated casing surrounding said sections, and a drippings pipe extending through the top of said casing, and supported thereby in position to discharge into said adjustable section.
