Application filed February 26, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ERNEST Foes, L. D. S., a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at 58 J esmond road, in the city oi Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, have invented new and useful Improvements in or Relating to Artificial Teeth, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to artificial teeth, and has for its object to provide improved means for improving the appearance of the same.
According to this invention I provide separate filling-pieces for fitting and filling the interstices between adjacent teeth and giving the appearance of the gums.
I will fully describe my invention with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view of a portion of a set of artificial teeth fitted with my fillingpieces. Fig. 2 is 'an elevation and plan to a considerably enlarged scale of one of the filling-pieces illustrating one methodof securing the same; Fig. 3 is an elevation and side view and Fig. 4 is a side view and plan illustrating further ways of securing the filling-pieces.
Referring to the drawings, according to this invention I fit between the pairs of adjacent teeth a (Fig. 1) filling-pieces Z) Specification of Letters Patent.

made of porcelain, metal or any other suitable material. The filling-pieces b are of substantially wedge shape so that they fit snugly between the teeth, and they are appropriately enameled or colored to have the appearance of the gums.
The filling-pieces are secured in any convenient manner. By way of example, the filling-pieces may be provided with grooves or recesses 0 (Fig. 2) or holes d (Fig. 3) into which the vulcanite or material of which the plate e (Fig. l), on or to which the teeth a are mounted or secured, is made, can be pressed. Or the filling-pieces may be provided with headed or other pins or the like (Fig. 4-) which can be embedded in the material of the plate. In some cases the filling-pieces may be secured by any suit able cement, solder, etc.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is In artificial teeth, separate filling-pieces for fitting and filling the interstices between adjacent teeth, and means for securing same in position.
