\ Be it known that I, WILLIAM J oHsoN, of the city and county of Milwaukee, and State of NVisoonsin, huveiuveuted anew and useful Improvement in Blindfastening Hinges; and I do herebydeclare that the following is ,t full, clean', and exact description thereof,

which will enable those skilled inthe art to Ina-ke and use the same, reference being had tothe accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in whichj Figure 1 is :t perspective view of my invention;

My invention consists in `providing n button or cani at the lower end of zvlcnthered.; piutle, whereby the sume is prevented from beiugezicc-identally lifted out of the socket. Y

F, :L piece fastened ou the lower end of the fasteningbolt D, which, when turned on the pin G, which holdsiton, will prevent the bolt from 4being withdrawn and tlle blind coming off the hinge.

H, a. piece screwed onto the top of the lower leaf',

with a, point projecting out over the cap of fasteningbolt D, which also prevents the bolt from rising out of place, and thus the blind is-held in position.

Operation. v

Willen thc blind is hung and closed, :is shown, lfig. l, the feather l'ulls into the slot, and the fastener D is down toit-s place, and the blind is held to. lo open the blind, just raise bolt D till the upper part of the feather comes out of the slot in the upper leaf, and the blind can he swung back, and when buck fau' enough for the feather t0 come over the other slot,-

bolt D falls down in place, and the hinge is heldropen. And to close it again, raise bolt D, and thc work is done. The piece F, on thc lower end of bolt D, when turned round, prevents bolt D from heilig raised out of place, the end ofzit projecting out, :ts shown, iig.

3, and the piece H will also prevent the blind from being raised off the hinge, or the wind from blowing it off.

Claim.

Button or cztm F, at the lower end of pintle D, to prevent said pint-le from being accidentally. lifted out of its socket. p
