@trouw lFRANK REGAMEY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
TABLE.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Feb. 25, 1913.
Application led July 15, 1912. Serial No. 709,760.
To all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, FRANK REGAMEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State o-f New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to improvements in self waiting tables, the object being to provide a table comprising a stationary part which is formed adjacent its center with a circular cut-away portion within which is arranged a movable part, the dishes containing food adapt-ed to be supported upon the said rotatable part, so that any of -the said dishes maybe easily and quickly delivered to the various persons seated at the table without necessitating 'the employment of a waiter for such a purpose.
A further object of the invention the provision of a self waiting table which will embody the desirable features of cheapness, simplicity and efficiency.
Wit-h the aboverecited objects in view, the improvement resides in the novel construction, combination and operative arrange-l ment of parts set forthin the following description and falling within the scope of the appended claim.
In the drawing, Figure 1 is a plan view of a table constructed in accordance with the present invention. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal sectional view taken through the upper portion of the table. Fig. 3 is a plan view with the revolvablc member removed.
With my improved table I contemplate the employment of a central leg or support 1, the same having its upper extremity secured in a sleeve 2 which is integrally formed and-.which depends from a plate 3. This plate preferably comprises a fiat roundedmember, the upper face of which is formed with an upstanding annular fiange Ll. The plate, as well. as the sleeve and the flange are preferably constructed upon a single casting, but may be otherwise formed if desired, and the central portion of the plate between the inner walls provided by the annular fiange 4 is formed with suitable openings 5, while the plate 3 beyond the outer walls formed by the annular flange 1s also provided with alsuitable opening (i.
The numeral 7 designates the stationary top for the table. This top is provided with a circular opening, the same being of a size to snugly engage with the upper face of the plate 3 as well as with theiupvpez, wall provided by the upset flange Lleandthe member 7 is retained upon the platejofathe cast-ing through themediuinof securingelements 9 passing through the openings 6in the said plate.
The numeral 10 designates the central portion of the stationary member of the table. This member has its outer periphery rounded, and is adapted to occupy the space provided upon the upper face of the plate between the inner wall provided by the rounded flange 4, and the member 10 is effectively sustained upon the plate 3 thro-ugh the niedium of securing elements 11 which pass through the openings 5. The upset flange t is cent-rally provided with an annular depression 12, the same forming a raceway for anti-frictional balls 13.
The numeral 14 designates the movable memberof the table top. Thisvmember is of a circular formation and is adapted to fill the space provided within the adjacent rounded edges of the central member 10 and outer member 7 of the table top. The meinber 14 has secured to its under face a casting 15 the upper face of which being flat to snugly engage the said under face of the member 14, the said casting being circular to correspond with the shape of the member 11, and the under face of the said casting is provided with a continuous rounded groove 16 which engages with the anti-frictional balls 13 provided in the raceway 12.
Frein the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings the simplicity of the device as well as the advantages thereof will, it is thought, be perfectly apparent to those skilled in the art to which such inventions appertain without further detailed description.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is:
The herein 'described construction of tables including-.a round plate having its underface formed with an integral depending sleeve for 'the reception of the pes-t of' the table, the said plate being centrally provided'with a perforation and being also provided adjacent its periphery with additional perforations, the plate having its upper face centrally recessed to provide va circular pocket, a circular table center arranged within the pocket, a securing element passing through the central opening of the plate into the table center, the piate having its upper face adjgielt its periphery centraly in the form of an annulus arranged between '-'depresse a, tab? top having s central nn-. the central and outer member of the table nular opening received within the recess,'se' top and having a bearing for the anti-fric! Curing eemens passing through the per-- tionalmembers.' v orations adjacent the periphery of the In testimony whereof I ax my signature 15 plate :for sustaining the said. ltopv portion -n presence of two Witnesses.
upon the-plate', the. enlarged portion of the Y. FRANK REGAMIEY. :pate 'between its pocket andrecess having YVimesses:
an annular groove providing a race-Way for THOMAS A. T s, 10 auti-frictional members, and a top 'member PHILIP Gr. ZmG R.
