What I claim asmy invention is: 1. In car construction, a chute secured to the body of the car and terminating in a blank wall at the end thereof and having a dump opening through the bottom thereof at the lower end, flanges rigidly secured around said opening and forming, with said chute walls, surrounding pockets to said door opening, a door of double plate formation at theedges thereof forming pockets completely therearo'und, and means for operating said door in and into the aforesaid pockets surrounding the chute opening.
2. In car construction, a chute secured to,
the body of the car having a blank wall at the lower end thereof and a dump opening end of said dump opening, a door having at the lowerend a double plate formation coacting with the double plate formation at the lower end of said blank wall in efl'ecting the joint, and double plate formations on the sides thereof coacting with the dotibl plate formations on the sides ofiithe dump opening and an inturned double plate formation atthe upper endthereof co-acting with the outturned double plate formation at the upper end of the chute opening, and means forvoperatlng said door.
3-. In a car construction, a chute having a blank wall, a dump-opening in said chute, a
door having at its lower end a double plate formation coacting with a double plate formationat the lower end of said blank wall to form a joint and a double plate formation on the sides thereof coacting with the double plate formations on the sides of the dump opening to form a joint and an intur-ned double plate form: n at the upper end of said door coacting with an outturned double-plate formationat the upper end of said chute opening, and means for operating said door.
