Figure 1 is front elevation of the device applied to a window casing. Fig. 2 is a detail perspective of one end portion of the device. Fig. 3 is an end elevation of the same. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the device.

' The brackets a and b are arranged on the opposite sides 5 and 6 of the window casing and are adapted to support the ordinary shade and curtain, the shade roller and the curtain pole being engaged by the brackets in a manner to be described presently. The bracketsa and b are preferably formed though not necessarily of metal and may be formed in any suitable manner such as by stamping the same from sheet metal, in which event the necessary bending required in order to form the bracket to be presently described will be accomplished after the blank has been stamped from the sheet.

Since the brackets a and b are identical in structure with the exception that they are formed right and left, a description of one will be suflicient for both :Each bracket includes a bearing portion 6 which may be shaped to bear on the face'of the window casing or any other suitable portion thereof and at one end is formed with an angular-shaped tooth extension 7 the teeth 8 of which are arranged so as to be driven or otherwise forced into one side of the window casing. A pole support 9 connects with the bearing portion 6 and is arranged at an angle thereto andhas a vertical socket 10 to receive one end of a curtain pole or the like. One end portion of the bearing plate 6 may be reduced if desired as shown at 11 and a suitable support formed by bending the outer end of the portion 11 into an angular shape as shown at 12. The shade bracket 13 is herein shown as having a portion l-it provided with a clamping means such as a screw 15 and winged nut 16, the former sliding in a guide slot 17 and cooperating with the nut to secure the bracket 13 at various distances from the support 12. The brackets 13 are formed with suitable openings 18 to receive the trunnions at the opposite end of the ordinary shade roller. For connecting the brackets and serving to additionally support the same I make use of a sectional tie rod, the sections 19 and 20 of which are herein shown as provided at one end with eyes 21 each of which receives the other section. The sections 19 and 20 extend through openings in the supports 12 and also through openings in the shade brackets 13 serving to additionally support and guide the same, the end portions of said sections extending through the curtain brackets 9 and terminating in angular shape of reversely bent sharpened end portions 22 which are adapted to extend around the remote edges of the window casing and bite into the same. A contract-ible clamping sleeve 23 receives the inner end portions of the sections 19 and 20 and is contracted therearound in any preferred manner such as through the cooperation of a screw 24 and winged nut 25.

In use the brackets a; and b are adjusted on the opposite sides 5 and 6 of the window casing and to the proper position above the floor, after which the toothed end portions are forced into the sides 5 and 6. The

shade brackets are then adjusted to the derstood that I am not to be limited to the specific description of the same nor to the arrangement of the parts, since it will be manifest that various changes may be made, in the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

WVhat I claim as new is:

1. In a fixture for shades, curtains and the like, the combination of a plurality of curtain pole brackets having toothed end portions to bite into the opposite sides of a Window frame, an extensible tie rod connecting the brackets and having angular shaped sharpened portions also to bite into the opposite sides of a Window frame and shade roller brackets adjustably secured to the curtain pole brackets.

2. In a fixture for shades, curtains and the like, the combination of a plurality of curtain brackets having angular shaped sharpened end portions to bite into the 0pposite sides 01"? a Window frame, an extensible tie rod connecting said brackets and having angular shaped sharpened end portions adapted to engage With the opposite sides of the Window casing, and shade brackets adjustably secured to the curtain brackets and slidably fitted on the tie rod.
