Description

G. T. SE'YF P. TROUSERS AND GARMENT HANGER.
APPLIOATIDK TILED APB.19. 19H.
Patented Dec. 19, 1911.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CLARENCE T. SEIPY, 0F GLOBE, ARIZONA TERRITORY.
TROUSERS AND GARMENT HANGER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
1,012,169. Patented Dec. 19, 1911.
Application filed April 19. 1911. Serial No. 622,039.
bent downwardly or depressed as shown at B, so as to touch or nearly touch the rod T 0 all about it may concern:
Be it known that I, (masses T. Enter, a i citizen of the l'nited States. residing at Globe. in the county of (iila and Territory t of Arizona, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Trousers and Garment Hangers. of which the following is a specitication.
This invention relates generally to gari A, when said rod is turned as shown in Fig. ment hangers, and more particularly to a l 2, but when the rod is turned on the pintle combmed coat and trousers hanger, the obends of the hanger to the position shown in Fig. 3 it will be noted that these curved or depressed portions B are a sufficient distance away from the rod A to permit the trousers to be passed between said rod and hanger, and after the trousers have been properly arranged upon the rod, said red is turned so as to bind the trousers between the rod and the depressed portions of the hanger. After the trousers have been secured in this manner the coat can, if desired be arranged upon the hanger as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1.
It will thus be seen that I provide a cheap, simple and efficient garment hanger by means of which both coat and trousers can be suspended at the same time.
Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. A device of the kind described. comprising a rod having eccentrically arranged sockets at its ends, and a hanger having pintle ends adapted to engage said sockets. a suspending loop, and curved or depressed portions adapted to touch or approach the rod, as set forth.
2. A device of the kind described, comprising a hanger formed of a single piece of wire bent centrally upon itself, providing a suspending loop, pintles arranged at the ends of said wire, the intermediate portions of said wire being curved or depressed, and a roller having eccentrically arranged sockets at its ends, one end having a notch communicating with said socket, as set forth,
CLARENCE T. SEIPP.
ject being to provide an exceedingly cheap, simple and efficient device, and one upon which trousers can. he quickly and easily arranged and securely held and remain so held while the device is also utilized as a hanger for the coat.
\Yith these objects in view my invention consists in the novel features of construction hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
In the drawings forming a part of this specification: Figure 1 is a view showing the practical application of my invention, the coat being shown in dotted lines in order to permit my invention to be clearly illustrated in full lines. Fig. 2 is a front elevation partly in section showing the position of the various parts when the rod is turne for the purpose of securing the trousers thereon. Fig. 3 is a similar view showing the position the parts assume when the rod is turned to release the trousers, and, Fig. 4 is a detail perspective view showing one end of the rod.
In carrying out my invention I employ a rod A made preferably of wood and of any suitable size, said rod having a socket A, bored in each end thereof and it will be noted that these sockets are arranged eccentrically or otf center, and communicating with one of said sockets upon the short side thereof is a notch A, produced in the end of the rod.
The combined hanger and clamp B, is formed of a single piece of wire bent centrally upon itself to provide an eye or loop B, and at each end is hooked as shown at B to provide pintles which enter the sockets A, and by having the notch A, it will Witnesses:
