AIZfLIOATION TILED 1113.20, 1911 1,001,434, Patented Aug. 22, 1911.
/ IV VE N TORS erzcA/ Wflrewf ATTORNEYS UNiTE @TATE% PATENT UFGEQ EMIL THEODORE PALIVIENBERG, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., AND FREDERICK WILLIAM KREUSCH, OF BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY; SAID KREUSCH ASSIGNOR TO SAID PALMEN- BERG.
GARMENT-FORM.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, Elwin T. PALM'nN- BERG and linaonuiok WV. Kunusolr, both citizens of the United States, and residents, respectively, of the city of New York, borough ot' lvlanhattan, in the county and State of New York, and Bayonne, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have in vented new and useful Improvements in (Jlarment-I orms, of which the tlollowing is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of the invention is to provide certain new and useful improvements in garment terms, whereby the arm pieces can be readily removed for fitting purposes, at the same time showing a correct armhole outline.
In order to accomplish the desired result the shoulder and arm pieces are provided with armhole patterns, of which one has a tongue for engagement with a keeper on the other pattern, to removably connect the arm piece with the shoulder.
A practical emlmdiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part o't this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corres ionding parts in all the views.
Figure l is a side elevation oi. the shoulder portion. of the body of the garulent term; Fig. 2 is a like view of the upper end of the arm piece; and Fig. 3 is a sectional front elevation. of the garment torm showing the arm piece in position on the shoutder, the section being on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
The body A of the garment term is provided. at each shoulder 13 with an armhole plate C having a guideway correspomling to the armhole of the garment to be titted over the garment form. Onto the plate (.1 tits a correspondingly shaped arm piece plate I), attached to the upper terminal of the arm piece 11), and on the said plate :l) are arranged struck up tongues ll), pre'le'ably two in number, located one above the other and adapted to engage corresponding keepers C formed on the plate (I, to permit of attaching or detaching the arm piece E. The plates C and D are provided at their man Specification of Letters Patent.

gins with angular flanges D fitting over the tern'iinals ot' the shoulder B and the arm piece I) to protect the said parts from in jury when placing the arm piece 1) in position on the shoulder 13 or removing it therefrom. It will also be noticed that by providing the flanges C, l) a smooth edge is given to the outline of the armhole pattern.
It is understood that the user of the gar ment form frequently desires removal of the arm piece l) for properly litting a garment over the form, and at the san'ie time the outline or margin of each plate and I) gives the correct shape of the armhole.
It is understood that the tongues l), l) are so arranged relative to the keepers (1, C that the said parts are in engagement with each other, the plates (l and l) tit snugly one onto the other, and their margins coincide. As each of the plates (1 and l") is a correct armhole pattern, either can be used tor giving the correct shape to the armhole of a sleeve.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A garment torm having a body provided at the shoulder with an arm hole plate, an arm piece provided at its upper end with a plate corresponding to the said arm hole plate, the said plates having marginal flanges fitting over the terminals ot the said shoulder and arm piece respectively, struck up tongues on the arm piece plate located one above the other, and correspomlingly arranged keepers on the shoulder plate for detachably connecting the said arm piece with the said shoulder, the said plates when the parts are in eugagtunent with caclrother titting closely one upon the other and the marginal tlanges ot said plates coinciding.
in testimony \vhereol we have signed our names to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
