y IMPROVEMENT IN THOROUG-H-RACES.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all lwhom it 'ma-g] concern:

Beit known that I, JAMESOE. REQUA, of Sonora, in the county of Tuolumne, and State of California, have invented a new and improved Thorough-Brace; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings 'forming part of this specication.

Thisinvention relates to improvement in thoroughbraces for carriages or other vehicles to which they are applicable; and

Itconsists in the thorough-brace constructed as hereinafter specified.

Figure 1 represents a longitudinal section of a part of a carriage-frame, with my improved braces applied toit; and l' l Figure 2 represents a plan View of the same.

A represents my improved braces, which I propose to make of wire by braidingthe same into at thin strips, of any suitable dimensions, as required by the casein hand, and joining the ends -by swivel connections, B, and a right-and-left threaded screw.

`I have found by experiment that by the' employment swivel loops being made broad and straight at their v outer ends to receive theends of the belt,all consti-noted and arranged as shown and described.
