Abstract

The invention relates to the method of destruction of metals, and in particular to the destruction of steel and cast iron bodies of spherical shape. A method includes cooling by liquid nitrogen and destruction by mechanical devices, for example, rotary shafts. The metallic bodies before destruction are subject to quenching with rate of cooling, at which internal stresses attain ultimate strength, and cooling by liquid nitrogen is carried out in the chamber to a temperature, at which the material transfers from viscoelastic state into brittle state, and residual austenite - into martensite.
