Abstract
An overhead conveyor system for conveying objects comprises at least one supporting rail (16) with at least one supporting frame (48), which has at least one section that is slanted with regard to a horizontal plane, which accommodates at least one driving means (22) and at least one object (60), is connected to the driving means (22), and which is displaceably guided by the supporting rail (16). The supporting frame (48) can pivot about a horizontal pivot pin (36) that is essentially perpendicular to the direction of motion of the supporting frame. The invention also relates to a method for operating an overhead conveyor system of the aforementioned type, according to which the supporting frame (48) is prevented from swinging about the pivot pin (36) by a braking device (76, 92).
