The invention relates to the processes for producing alkali metal silicates and may be used for producing liquid glass intended for production of detergents. A process consists in autoclave dissolving crushed bulk-silicate in water upon heating in the presence of an additive. Ox ethylated alkylphenol based on terpolymer of propylene and alkyl benzene sulphonate at the mass ration of (2-3):1, correspondingly, are used as additive. The additive is taken in the quantity of 0.1–0.5 wt. % of the weight of bulk-silicate.
