Description

適應性調變及編碼技術之動態頻道品質測量程序
本發明關於無線通訊系統。尤其是,本發明係關於使用分碼多工存取(code-division multiple access,CDMA)技術之通訊站。本發明特別是關於決定用於有效利用無線資源使用率及選擇使用者服務之資料速率之無線狀況。
於分碼多工存取第三代(3G)細胞通訊系統中,適應性調變及編碼技術(adaptive modulation and coding,AM&C)被應用於傳輸以便達成改善的無線資源使用率,並在適當的狀況下提供增加的使用者服務資料速率。這些AM&C技術預先將無線傳輸狀況列入考慮,以便決定從使用這些技術之目前無線傳播情況中獲得有益之調變及編碼速率。
於使用這些AM&C技術時,需要在每個傳輸之前,從接收器提供實體頻道品質測量的程序。基於此品質測量,傳輸器決定特定傳輸之適合的調變及編碼速率。
於CDMA系統中,如同以任何無線系統,無線狀況可能因為自然或人為狀況二者的廣泛變化而快速改變。因為頻道品質測良被用以決定傳輸調變及編碼,且因為傳輸路徑之情況改變所產生之頻道品質之快速改變,適應性傳輸處理係直接與頻道品質測量之時間與傳輸開始之時間之間的時間週期長度有關。
實體或邏輯控制頻道隨後被用以將頻道品質測量從接收器傳輸至傳輸器。頻道品質訊號可以使用對每一使用者設備(user equipment,UE)專用的控制頻道或由所有UEs共享之共用控制頻道。UE可以是細胞式話機(cell phone),PDA(個人資料助理)或其它型態之無線裝置。當專用控制頻道被使用時,一連續訊號頻道為每一UE之頻道品質測量的傳播而超時存在。此為AM&C之理想解決方案,因為品質測量持續的存在。考慮適當的調變及編碼設定用之持續存在的品質測量,傳輸可以在任何時後發生。因此,以專用控制頻道總是存在於上行連結(uplink)的方式,頻道可以被用以支持低速率上行連結資料傳輸。
使用專有控制頻道方法的困難在於,即使在沒有資料傳輸的時候仍持續配置實體層資源。AM&C技術之主要應用是非即時高資料速率服務,例如,網際網路存取。為這些服務的等級,最佳的服務品質(QoS)以短的,具相當長的傳輸之間的閒置週期而達成。這些長的閒置週期產生專用資源使用的低效能。
此問題可以藉由預先規劃週期的專用頻道配置而被降至最小。但產生品質測量之週期性的存在。如果品質測量未連續存在,對於在任意時間產生傳輸之UEs而言,只有某些UEs將具有最近的頻道品質測量。
另一方式是共用控制頻道的使用。以共用空制頻道的使用,存在一個由細胞內所有UEs共用之連續訊號頻道。決定每一UE對共同控制頻道存取的程序被定義。UE識別被用以區分特定的業務。支援AM&C之共同控制方法的困難在於測量每一UEs對控制頻道存取所需之大量的訊號經常性費用。如前所述,UE識別是需要的以便區分UE特別的業務。因此,為避免對上行連結共用控制頻道之以競爭為基礎之存取,在下行連結(downlink)共用控制頻道上之每一UEs存取之個別配置需要發訊號。因為上行連結並非總是可預期的,上行連結控制頻道之週期性配置必須在下行連結控制頻道上發訊號,其產生相相當的發訊號的經常性費用。同時,共用控制方法不提供低速率,上行連結資料傳輸。
綜合言之,AM&C技術之效率主要是基於事先來自接收器之每一傳輸器之最近實體頻道品質測量的效益。較佳者,測量以具有動態資料傳輸之所有使用者之最小延遲而存在。此專用控制頻道解決方法提供連續的測量,但因為傳輸是不連續的,這對無線資源之使用是沒有效率的。週期性設計的專用控制頻道使無線資源需求為最少,但這增加了測量的延遲。共同控制頻道方法可以在連續或週期基礎上提供測量,但使訊號標記的經常性費用產生無線資源的無效率使用。
需要能夠提供具有低延遲及低訊號標記經常性費用之方法。
發明所提出的無線數位通訊系統包含一個與複數個使用者設備行動終端(UEs)進行通訊的基地台。此系統優先處理指定至該等Ues中的一些行動終端的下行連結資料區塊,以便改善無線資源使用效率並改善使用者服務時需要的資料速率至最佳狀態。下行連結(DL)資料區塊被基地台接收,其僅要求來自具有處理中之下行連結傳輸之行動終端之下行連結DL頻道品質測量。該等UEs藉由測量並回報DL頻道品質至基地台而回應該請求,其隨後配置資源,因此該等UEs將具有無線資源之最佳使用。該基地台,於該UEs所傳輸之下行連結資料區塊之傳輸之後,指示調變/編碼速率及被配置之時槽的實體頻道配置至該等UEs。

第一圖係本發明較佳之動態頻道品質測量程序(dynamic channel quality management procedure,DCQMP)之流程圖。
第二圖表示第一圖所示之本發明之DCQMP之另一實施例。
所示之較佳實施例於下文參照所附圖式而被描述,其中相同的標號始終代表相同的元件。
第一圖係本發明動態頻道品質(channel quality,CQ)測量程序60之流程圖,其可藉由具有與至少一使用者設備,以下係以UE 30代表,通訊之基地台/點B(以下稱基地台12)無線數位通訊系統實施。雖然所呈現之發明方法意於支援一基地台與複數UEs之間的通訊,為簡要說明之故,以下之描述將詳細說明由單一UE所執行之步驟;(可了解的是所有其它UEs將以相同方式運作)。下行連結(DL)資料被傳輸至指定給一特定UE 30之基地台12(步驟S1)。
基地台12回應下行連結資料之接收並於傳輸之UE 30之前要求僅來自具有未決之向下傳輸之一UE 30之DL CQ測量(步驟S2)。
UE 30在步驟S3接收該要求並於步驟S4回報該DL CQ測量至基地台12。
基於從每一UE接收之CQ測量報告(步驟S5),基地台12決定那一UEs將具有最佳的無線資源使用效率,並決定使用那一時槽(slot)(步驟S6)。較佳者,此UEs藉由其CQ而被排列優先次序,因此,具有最高CQ之UE首先被傳送資料,然後具有第二高CQ的UE接著被傳送其資料,依此類推,直到具有最低CQ之UE的資料最後被傳送為止。
因為CQ測量要求及回應的CQ報告只在需要時產生,共用控制頻道所需之訊號發送經常性費用可大幅降低。測量報告為所有活動中的傳輸使用者而存在,類似專用控制頻道,但避免了在閒置週期中之資源的無效率使用。
傳輸的優先次序依據DL CQ測量而決定,且DL實體頻道配置發訊號至適合的UEs,指示特定的編碼速率,調變型態及配置時槽(步驟S7)。被指定的UE接收該編碼速率,調變型態及配置時槽(步驟S8),並設定這些接收用之參數(步驟S9)。
在步驟S7之執行後一預定(但是短時間)時間後,下行連結資料之區塊隨後由基地台12傳送至被指定的UE 30(步驟S10),以致能UE 30之接收用之時間設定。UE 30在特定的編碼速率,調變型態以及於步驟S7所指定之配置時槽中接收下行連結資料。
本發明因此提供AM&C運作所需之基礎需求而維持無線資源之使最大使用效率。因為DL CQ測量以所有傳輸之最小的可能延遲而存在,於下一傳輸時間框中被提供服務之一或多位使用者的選擇可以達到最佳。此外,由週期性或連續機制提供之測量不提供比本發明增加的利益,效能增益或加強。
本發明之實施也使測量程序處理及相關的消耗功率為最少,對一般由限制容量之小功率(亦即,一充電電池)所供電之UE尤其重要。因為品質測量僅為一特定的活動傳輸而被要求,所需之糙量的數目可被降至最小。
依據第二圖所示之本發明另一實施例之方法70,僅需特定數量的測量,依據一特定傳輸所使用之無線資源而定。例如,在3G標準中,僅為特定實體時槽之CQ可被要求。因此,藉由限制CQ測量之需求於活動傳輸以及,依據傳輸之尺寸,僅需特定無線資源(亦即,特定之時槽)上之測量,所執行之測量的數目可以降低。這被表示於第二圖,其類似第一圖,除了修改的步驟S2A及S3A之外,其分別取代第一圖之步驟S2與S3。於步驟S2A,基地台12要求UE 30執行僅於一特定無線資源上執行測量。回應該要求,UE在特定的無線資源上執行DL CQ測量(步驟S3A)。
本發明在習知技術上提供許多優點。首先,本發明提供空氣介面之最高有效率的使用,因為只有那些具有未完成傳輸之UEs將需要回應DL CQ測量之請求。這允許發訊號之經常性費用為最小。
其次,因為傳輸係依據最高品質DL CQ測量而被排安排優次序,每一時槽或多時槽之可允許的最高資料速率將可被達成。
第三,因為UEs僅需回應DL CQ測量之請求,將不需要UEs之不需要的測量,藉此節省UEs電池壽命。
本發明之最後優點在於此處所揭示之方法的細胞中所能支援之使用者數目的增加。被支援之使用者的數目於專用控制頻道方法中被專用無線資源之需求所限制;而於共用控制頻道方法中被發訊號之經常性費用需求所限制。藉由限制對活動使用者之測量發訊號程序,本發明使共用控制之發訊號經常性費用為最小並支援細胞中最多的使用者數目。
雖然本發明以最佳實施例而被描述,其它落入如申請專利範圍中所描述之本發明範圍之變化對熟悉本技藝之人士而言將是明顯的。

Claims (10)

  1. 用於接收下鏈控制資訊的方法,該方法包括:由一使用者設備(UE)接收提供一頻道品質(CQ)測量報告的一請求;由該UE傳送一CQ測量報告,以回應該請求;由該UE接收該下鏈控制資訊,其包含一資源配置,其中該下鏈控制資訊係由與該UE相關聯的一UE身分(ID)來區分;以及由該UE接收符合該無線資源配置的下鏈數據。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中該無線資源配置包含一編碼速率和一調變型態至少其中之一。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中要提供一CQ測量報告的該請求係在一共用控制頻道或是一專用控制頻道所接收。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之方法,其中要提供一CQ測量報告的該請求指示該CQ測量所依據的至少一特定無線資源。
