Abstract

Washing and drying machine 1 performs a drying process by controlling an air circulation and the rotation of drum driving motor 4 such that damp air in rotary drum 5 is discharged and returned to rotary drum 5 after being dehumidified and heated. The drying process has at least reference drying control process (A) for controlling the rotation of drum driving motor 4 such that at least three kinds of rotation control modes are repeated for predetermined time periods, respectively. The respective rotation control modes has a different rotational speed of rotary drum 5 capable of producing different displacement movement of laundry in rotary drum 5 by the rotation of rotary drum 5, and each rotation control mode has a rotating period and an idle period of rotary drum 5 for each rotational direction with respect to each rotational speed.
