Each petal includes an irregular octagonal top surface at the front of the gemstone, and the equator of each petal thereby generally defines half of the circumference of the gemstone, and the petals are joined at the edges of five faces in front of each petal and the edges of another five faces in the back. When viewed from the back, each petal has eight generally unequal kite pavilion faces that meet in the bottom area of the gemstone, and between any two adjacent kite faces is one or two lower equatorial planes, and the twelve lower equatorial planes are generally of different shapes and sizes. Along the equator are 15 small and equal kite-like facets, while above the equator are eight stellate facets connected to the edge of each of the top faces, of which six stellate facets are each separated from an adjacent such facet by a single kite-like facet, and the ten upper equatorial facets comprise the main part of the periphery of each lobe. In addition, on the front surface of each lobe adjacent to the second lobe are pentagonal, quadrilateral and triangular facets.
