Description of the invention (1) [Technical field to which the invention belongs] The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display unit (1 iquidcrysta 1 disp 1 ayce 1 1) and a method for repairing the same, and particularly to one drop injection method (one drop fi 1 1) Liquid crystal display unit manufactured by the manufacturing process and its repair method [Prior technology] The liquid crystal display device (liquid crystal display device) generally used will include a backlight module and a liquid crystal display unit (liquid crysta 1 disp 1 ayce 1 1) The birefringence characteristic of the liquid crystal is used to control the penetration of light, thereby displaying various images. As shown in FIG. 1, the liquid crystal display unit 100 includes two substrates 102 and 104 arranged face to face, and a liquid crystal layer 106 is sandwiched between the substrates 102 and 104. In detail, the assembling process of the two substrates includes the following steps. First, referring to FIG. 2, a sealant is coated on the substrate 102 using a syringe coating technology to form a seal 1. 0 8 and leave an opening 10 8 a for liquid crystal injection later. It should be noted that a bump 1 1 0 is provided in the opening 108 a. Then, the pair of substrates are aligned and heat-pressed to complete the crosslinking of the polymer. After the two substrates are assembled, they are cut into individual liquid crystal display units (LCD ce 1 1). The liquid crystal material is injected into the liquid crystal display unit through the opening 108a by vacuum injection (vacuum injection method). The opening was then sealed with resin and cured. It should be noted that referring to FIG. 2 'because the liquid crystal material is injected after the two substrates are assembled', the cured sealant 1 0 8 at the peripheral corners 1 0 8 b usually leaves liquid crystal material 1 1 2 which is difficult to remove. .

00740.ptd Page 7 594209 V. Description of the invention (2) In addition, the conventional technology also uses a drop injection method (ο n e d r ο p f i 1 1 (referred to as 0D F)) to assemble the liquid crystal display unit. The so-called drip injection method includes applying a sealant to at least one of a pair of substrates, and dripping a liquid crystal material on one of the pair of substrates, and then stacking one of the pair of substrates on the other substrate. Up and cure the sealant. Compared with the widely used vacuum injection method in the manufacture of liquid crystal display units, the drop-injection process significantly reduces the manufacturing cost of liquid crystal display units and improves the yield of mass production. The reason is that, first, this method significantly reduces the amount of liquid crystal materials used. And, secondly, this method reduces the time to inject the liquid crystal material. Therefore, there is a strong demand to apply the drip injection method to the manufacturing process of a liquid crystal display unit. According to the drip type injection process, a predetermined amount of liquid crystal material is dripped onto a substrate by a liquid crystal dripper. However, when the liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display cell is excessive or insufficient due to a change in the cell volume defined between the two substrates, quality problems may occur. When the amount of liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display unit is insufficient, so-called bubbles (e.g., bubble 1 e) appear in the liquid crystal display unit. When the liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display unit is excessive, gravity mura (large-scale diurnal defects) occurs. Any liquid crystal display unit with air bubbles or uneven gravity will be considered defective. However, when the industry is currently detecting defects in gravity unevenness, if a defective liquid crystal display unit is found to be defective, it cannot be repaired (r e p a i r). [Summary of the Invention] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a repair method for a liquid crystal display unit manufactured by using a drop-injection method.

The liquid crystal display unit 400 has a sealing member 402 disposed between the pair of substrates 3 0 2 and 3 0 4 for one of the pair of substrates. It is fixed on another substrate. The sealing member 402 has a first portion 〇2a encloses a display area 404 of one of the liquid crystal display units 400 and a second portion 402b defines a channel 406. The first part 4 0 2 a of the sealing member is to seal the liquid crystal material of the liquid crystal layer 3 06 in the display area 4 04. One end of the channel 406 defined by the second part 402b of the seal is closed by the first part 402a of the seal and the other end defines an opening. As mentioned earlier, when the liquid crystal display unit is manufactured using the conventional drop-injection method, the amount of liquid crystal material to be distributed needs to be controlled very precisely. When the drop of liquid crystal material is lower than the minimum allowable dispe ns ingqu an tity (hereinafter referred to as "Vm i η π"), the liquid crystal material delivered cannot completely fill the space between the two substrates. Space, a negative pressure may exist between the pair of substrates of the finished product of the liquid crystal display unit. As a result, a cavity may be easily formed in the liquid crystal display.

00740.ptd Page 11 594209 V. Description of the invention (6) In the liquid crystal layer of the finished product without panel. When the infusion of the liquid crystal material exceeds the maximum allowable dispensing quantity (hereinafter referred to as π V ma χ π), a gravity mura (large range) is observed during the final inspection. Pixel defects), wherein the final inspection process is to place the finished product of the liquid crystal display unit in a manner perpendicular to the horizontal plane and heat it. The gravity non-uniformity defect is defined as when the light-emitting area (pixels on the substrate) is different or inconsistent with the neighboring area surrounding the defect, which is also called patterned brightness non-uniformity (BNU). Any LCD unit with air bubbles or uneven gravity will be considered defective. Therefore, one of the characteristics of the traditional drip injection method is that the drip volume of the liquid crystal material must be accurately controlled within a very narrow process allowable range (p r oc e s s window) (defined between Vmin and Vmax). In addition, when the conventional drip-injection method is used to manufacture a large-size liquid crystal display panel, the narrow process allowable range of the conventional drip-injection method further highlights its influence on the process. Therefore, the present invention provides a method for repairing a liquid crystal display unit. When the above liquid crystal display unit 400 is detected to have a problem of uneven gravity (that is, an excessive amount of liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display unit 400), the liquid crystal display unit 400 The display unit 400 performs a repair method described later. The repair method includes the following steps: First, referring to Fig. 5, cut off the seal at the closed end of the channel 406. According to an embodiment of the present invention, in this step, a laser light having a preset power can be used to make it enter from one of the pair of substrates and reach the place where the seal 402 is to be cut. Generally, the pair of substrates uses a glass

Description of the invention (8) The sealing member 3 1 0 includes an inner surface 3 1 0 a contacting the liquid crystal layer 3 0 6, and the shading array of the color filter substrate is distributed on the sealing member 3 Within the area defined by 1 0 3 3 0 a. In this embodiment, the laser light can be incident on the liquid crystal display unit 3 0 0 by the color filter substrate 3 0 4 and cut the sealing member 3 1 0 without destroying the light shielding array on the color filter substrate. Or color filters. The liquid crystal display unit according to the present invention may include a laminated color filter (COA) and an opposite substrate having a common electrode. The so-called "multi-layer color filter" is formed by forming a light-shielding array and a color filter and a thin film transistor on the same substrate. A liquid crystal display unit according to another embodiment of the present invention may include an in-plane switching mode (IPS mode) thin-film transistor substrate and an opposite substrate. The so-called "coplanar switching mode thin film transistor substrate" is a thin film transistor and a common electrode formed on the same substrate. It should be noted that the liquid crystal display unit of the present invention is different from the aforementioned conventional technique of forming a liquid crystal layer using a vacuum injection method. Referring to FIG. 2, the opening 1 0 8 a of the sealing member 108 forming the liquid crystal layer using the vacuum injection method has a bump 1 1 0, and the liquid crystal material is injected into the liquid crystal from outside the sealing member 108. In the panel, a liquid crystal material 1 1 2 which is difficult to be removed may remain in the periphery of the sealing member 108, especially in a corner 108 b, for example. In contrast, the liquid crystal display unit 600 of the present invention uses a drop-injection method to form its liquid crystal layer. Therefore, no liquid crystal material remains on the outer surface of the sealing member 602, and the channel of the sealing member 602 There are also no bumps in 6 0 6.
