Abstract

A sealing compound for liquid crystal which consists essentially of an acrylate resin, a polymerizable component having at least one unsaturated radical, a photopolymerizable initiator and an orienting component, has excellent heat resistance, moisture resistance and adhesive strength. The sealing compound is applicable particularly for sealing liquid crystal in between electrode substrates of a liquid crystal display unit, and can secure the electrode substrates without causing dislocation and uneven separation of the substrates.
