Abstract

A method of terminating communication when a voice line is cut off in a holding period of a keyboard telephone system, which comprises the following steps: switching a central office in a phone call or while holding a phone call through an extension being in a communication status with the central office, and transmitting a hold signal tone to the held central office; checking a central office signal tone during a period between transmitting the check hold signal to examining the existence or not of an error signal tone; and cutting off a central office line when an error signal is detected, and then stop supporting the communication of the extension.
