Abstract

The present invention provides an active Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) display panel, and an external detection method and device for detecting ageing of panel. After an OLED display is applied with electricity for the first time, at least one pixel's supply voltage is obtained and set as a reference value and stored. After a certain period of time has elapsed, the pixel's supply voltage is obtained again and compared with the above-mentioned reference value in order to determine whether the supply voltage has changed and further determine whether ageing has caused a rise in the supply voltage. The above-mentioned method can be used to perform a trend analysis on the ageing of pixels on an OLED display to be used as a basis for ageing compensation. Since the above-mentioned detection and compensation measure of ageing is completed externally before being shipped out of a manufacturing plant, there is no need of installing complicated built-in detection components on the display panel. This not only solves the problem of compensation of ageing, but also avoids the use of a display with complicated structure.
