Abstract

Disclosed are a video coding method with multi-function and expandable design and the circuit system thereof. The operation of inner product in the expression for transform coding becomes a progression of add-and-shift operation, and the expression is divided into several sub-expressions while a level of the progression is a cycle. Several adders-subtractors and a shift-add accumulator are used to add/subtract and shift the input data accordingly. The computational results of all the progressions are accumulated, and the last accumulated value is the output of a transform coding. The present invention enables to enhance the yield on data, and further save on the power consumption of the circuit system. Additionally, said invention provides a dynamic monitoring method and spurious power suppression technique. A detection logic circuit is used to automatically detect the bits needed to activate the detection operation circuit, and then a control circuit shut down partial circuits which are not needed according the detected result to further lower the power consumption.
