Abstract

A centrifugal fan has an outer housing including a driving means and a centrifugal impeller inside. When the centrifugal impeller is rotated by the driving means, airflow is carried via an opening of the outer housing axially (with reference to the centrifugal impeller), along the blades of the centrifugal impeller and into a circular flow channel. Each blade has one end fixed to a hub and the other end including at least one strip bump or strip notch. The strip bump or strip notch change airflow's characteristics so as to reduce its impact on the inner wall of the housing, thereby decreasing narrow-band noises.
