Abstract

The purpose of this invention is to provide a projection apparatus and a rear projection display apparatus that can suppress the occurring of moire in the screen picture. In the projector 12 of a projection apparatus, a lenticular lens sheet 111 which formed by lined up of a plurality of lenticular lens 211, was illuminated by the projection light. Same with the above-mentioned line up direction, a plurality of display pixels were placed with a predetermined pixel period. The projection light was reciprocally vibrated in above-mentioned line up direction, by an wobbling amplitude corresponding to the pixel period. Wobbling of the projection light is equivalent to the wobbling of the plurality of display pixels, and that eliminate the moire on the screen. The present invention relates to a rear projection display apparatus 1 comprising a projector 12 mentioned in above.
