Abstract

An objective of the present invention is to provide a circuit for preventing over-boosting capable of eliminating influence of ripple occurred in a boosting circuit so as to avoid malfunction. In the circuit for preventing over-boosting of the present invention, a difference (Vdd-Vout) between a source voltage Vdd and an output voltage Vout (&lt0V) of a charge pump circuit 2 is so controlled as not to exceed a predetermined value VMAX. When Vdd-Vout &lt VMAX, the charge pump circuit 2 performs a boosting operation. When Vdd-Vout > VMAX, the charge pump circuit 2 stops the boosting operation. Since a reference voltage Vref of an operation amplifier 1 takes a ground voltage Vss as reference, influence of ripple occurred in the charge pump circuit 2 can be eliminated.
