Abstract

Disclosed is a glass composition which contains Mo ions as a component while substantially containing, in terms of oxides, 55-75 wt% of SiO2, 11-25 wt% of B2O3, 0.3-1.4 wt% of MoO3, 1-10 wt% of Al2O3, 0-10 wt% of Li2O, 0-10 wt% of Na2O, 0-10 wt% of K2O, 1-10 wt% of Li2O + Na2O + K2O, 0-5 wt% of MgO, 0-10 wt% of CaO, 0-10 wt% of SrO, 0-10 wt% of BaO and 1-10 wt% of MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO. By having such a constitution, the glass composition has high ultraviolet shielding performance and hardly suffers from coloring.
