Abstract

The sheet 1 for forming the protective layer of the present invention consists of the uncured protective layer 11 and two base materials 12 and 12' holding the uncured protective layer 11. The uncured protective layer 11 is constituted of a composition containing 20 to 90 wt.% energy ray curing polymer and 10 to 80 wt.% polymer having no energy ray curing property and capable of forming the protective layer of the optical recording medium. The uncured protective layer 11 is press-fixed to the information recording layer (half-transmission reflection layer 3') and cured by irradiation with an energy ray to form the protective layer 11'.
