Abstract
This invention provides a kind of ferrite stainless steel with good thermal processability and anti-bacterial effect, which comprises carbon of 0.001%-0.1%, silicon (Si) of 0.2%-1.0%, magnesium (Mn) of 0.001%-1.0%, chromium (Cr) of 11.0%-20.0%, nitrogen (N) of 0.001%-0.1%, copper (Cu) of 1.0%-3.5% and balance of iron (Fe) and unavoidable trace elements in the steel-making process. The individual element composition is to make the value of the equation for calculating Martensitic phase to be a maximum value of 50. The equation is γph = 420 x %C - 11.5 x %Si + 7 x %Mn + 23 x %Ni + 11.5 x % Cr - 12 x %Mo + 9 x %Cu - 49 x %Ti - 52 x % Al + 470 x %N + 189. There is at least one annealing process carried out after the hot rolling process to generate precipitation of the second phase with copper as main component (called copper-rich phase hereafter) so that the ferrite stainless steel has excellent thermal processability and also exhibits anti-bacterial effect, in which the anti-bacterial effect does not deteriorate due to surface abrasion.
