วิธีผลิตโฟมโพลิยูรีเธนแข็งชนิดเซล์เปิดซึ่งประกอบด้วยการนำพรีโพลิเมอร์โพลิเมธิลีน โพลิเฟนิล ไอโซไซแอเนทมาทำ ปฏิกิริยากับโพลิออลที่อัตราส่วนสมมูลของ NCO/OH คือ 1.3 ถึง 3.0 โดยการใช้ตัวฟูซึ่งถือว่าประกอบด้วยน้ำเมื่อมีตัว เร่งปฏิกิริยา ตัวคงสภาพโฟมและสารทำให้เซลล์เปิด
