Тугоплавкие металлы, особенно IV группы , отличаютс  высокой антикоррозионной стойкостью, нар ду с большой сопротивл емостью механическому износу и наход т применение дл  получени  защитных покрытий всей или части поверхности машин, аппаратов и инструментов . Известен способ наращивани  из газовой фазы на металлическую раскаленную поверхность тугоплавких антикоррозионных металлов: вольфрама, молибдена , хрома и др., а также их твердых соединений карбидов, нитридов, боридов и силицидов. Способ основан на диссоциации или на соответствующей реакции паров веществ, содержащих эти тугоплавкие металлы в виде галоидных , водородных и кислородных соединений . Представл   большое научное значение, способ этот практического применени  не нашел по двум основным причинам: 1) вследствие перегрева основного металла изделий, так как температура образовани  прочных покрытий лежит выше 1500° и 2) вследствие неустранимой хрупкости получаемых покрытий при температуре ниже 1500°.There is a method of building up from the gas phase to the red-hot metal surface of the refractory anticorrosive metals: tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, etc., as well as their solid compounds of carbides, nitrides, borides and silicides.
