Description

In the proposed device for cutting the panicles and leaves of sugar sorghum and the like plants, fixed knives are used to cut the leaves adjacent to the plant stalks during the movement of the latter by the conveyor. These knives are placed in several rows in the nests of the table under the conveyor and are arranged in such a way that the knives of one row are angled in one direction and the knives of the other adjacent row are angled in the other direction.

When the stems are moved along the table 9, the knives 26 cut the leaves adjacent to the stalks. According to the author, the stems will roll over table 9, as a result of which screw cuts will be formed on the stems with knives 26, and in connection with the arrangement of the knives alternately in opposite directions the cutting will cross and the leaves adjacent to the stems will be cut into pieces.

In order to separate the cut parts of the leaves from the stems, there are brushes 5 attached to endless ribbons / 7. The final separation of the cut leaves is carried out by a fan 7, which blows off parts of the leaves.
