Description

A high-temperature non-metallic material is known - aluminum nitride, which has high chemical resistance, electrical insulation properties and dissociates at a temperature higher than 2200 ° C. The main disadvantages of aluminum nitride are the sharp decrease in electrical resistivity when heated to 1200 ° C and the thermal resistance is not high enough.

The purpose of the invention is to create an electrically insulating material based on aluminum nitride, which has a higher electrical resistance, high resistance to thermal shocks when heated to 1200 ° C.

This is achieved by introducing a filler in the form of whisker crystals of mullite with a diameter of 1-3 microns and a length of 150-600 microns and glass fibers with a diameter of 10-30 microns and a length of 1-3 mm in the matrix of aluminum nitride. The new material consists of 55-94% aluminum nitride, 1-15% whisker-like mullite crystals (3 ABOZ 2 SiOa) and 15-30% glass fiber.

The technology of making material with whisker crystals of mullite and glass fibers based on aluminum nitride consists in pressing blanks from a mixture of 55-94% aluminum nitride powder, 1 to 15% of whiskers of mullite and 15-30% of glass fibers and their subsequent sintering at 1550 ° C in nitrogen in the boron nitride charge.

The resulting material can be used as a refractory and electrically insulating high-temperature material capable of withstanding abrupt heat shifts without destruction.
