Description
This invention relates to the field of the extraction of nickel and cobalt from magnesian oxidized nickel-cobalt ores by the methods of hydrometallurgy. There is a method of autoclaving leaching of such ores in an aqueous medium with the introduction into the pulp above, leaching of sulfur dioxide. However, with the known method, a significant consumption of thermal energy for the regeneration of sulfurous anhydride and its inevitable loss with waste products are observed.
The proposed method differs from the known one in that the leaching is carried out with the introduction of oxygen and pyrite into the pulp in an amount of at least 30 ° / o from the weight of the ore. At the same time, the process is autogenous.
In this method, the ore is processed with pyrite at a temperature of 200-270 ° C in an oxygen or air atmosphere. As a result of pyrite oxidation, sulfuric acid is formed, which, in turn, reacts with the ore. The speed of the process depends on the temperature and pressure of the oxygen. Under certain conditions (for example, a temperature of 250 ° C and a pressure of 20 atm), the leaching time is reduced to 1 hour. At the same time, up to 99% of nickel and cobalt are recovered in the solution. Non-ferrous metals contained in pyrite are also not dissolved.
Преимуществами предлагаемого способа вл ютс : значительна интенсификаци процесса выщелачивани ; отсутствие затрат реагентов , за исключением кислорода или воздуха отсутствие затрат тепла ввиду экзотермиче ского характера процессов окислени пирита; устойчивость нроцссса и возможность его автоматизации .The advantages of the proposed method are: a significant intensification of the leaching process; no reagent costs, with the exception of oxygen or air; no heat costs due to the exothermic nature of pyrite oxidation processes; sustainability of nootss and the possibility of its automation.
