Abstract

The invention relates to the glass industry and can be used to strengthen the edge zone of structural optics products by ion exchange from the solid phase. In order to reduce the heat treatment temperature and increase the degree and uniformity of hardening of the marginal zone, the glassware bath for hardening contains the following components, wt%: 25 - 45 KNO 3 , 7 - 10 K 2 CR 2 O 7 , 5 - 20 AGNO 3 , 3 - 5 NA 2 SI O 3 . 9H 2 O, 1 to 2 glycerol and 18 to 59 H 2 O. Heat treatment is carried out at 400 ° C for 6 to 15 hours. The products after ion hardening are characterized by the following indicators: compressed layer depth 8.5 to 10 µm, strength Kra 110 - 148 MPa. 2 tab.

Description

The invention relates to the glass industry and can be used to strengthen the edge zone of alkaline glassware of structural optics.

The aim of the invention is to reduce the heat treatment temperature, increase the degree and uniformity of the hardening of the edge zone.

In tab. 1 shows the specific compositions of the baths for strengthening the edge zone of glassware of structural optics.

Example 1. Aqueous solutions indicated in Table 2 are applied to the edge zone of glassware from low-alkaline borosilicate glass (MBS) with polished ends. 1. Then the glass parts are heat-treated for 15 hours at 400 ° C.

Example 2. On the edge zone of glassware from thermally polished glass with polished ends

Aqueous solutions of the compositions are applied as in Example 1, then the glass products are heat-treated for 6 hours at 400 ° C.

2.The results of determining the depth of the compressed layer, the magnitude of the surface compressive stresses arising in the marginal zone, as well as the strength of the edge of the glass are shown in Table. 2
