Their dimensions are chosen from expressions 5·10≅ d/λ≅ 10; 2≅ b/d≅ 3, where d is distance between protrusion 3 or 4 and cylindrical wall 6 of length of round waveguide 5; b is height of cylindrical protrusions; λ is working length of wave. Transmitted wave forms in length of round waveguide 5 distribution of field with maximum in its medium plane where dielectric window 1 is positioned. Annular groove at distance d forms "trap" for electrons on side of vacuum. On non-vacuum side outer surface of cylindrical protrusion 3 increases length of discharge path and prevents discharge from point of connection of metal with dielectric along lines of force of electric field.
