Description

The proposed two-chamber sectional steam boiler of the marine type, equipped with a superheater and screens, is designed to operate with high thermal stresses. The heating surfaces and the flue space.

The boiler consists of convection part 1, superheater 2 and screens 3.3, 3.

The convection part consists of a conventional marine-type sectional water-tube boiler consisting of a drum 4, sections of heating pipes 5, tubes b connecting the drum 4 with the lowered ends of the sections through which the sections are powered with water from the drum, and tubes 7 connected of the raised ends of the sections with the drummed4. The superheater 2 is located below the convection part of the boiler, so that the lower row of its pipes is illuminated by the rays of the torch of hot flue gases. Such an arrangement of the superheater is aimed at obtaining, by using the radiant heat of the furnace, the superheating temperature of steam, which varies little with changes in the load of the boiler and the furnace.

The screens 3, 3, 3 are similar sections of heating pipes located below the superheater in parallel planes on the sides and in the middle part of the furnace at a certain distance from each other. The chambers formed by the shields are designed to use radiant heat and to cool the medium sent to the superheater.

This arrangement of the lower screen sections in the case of pulverized fuel contributes to cooling and granulating slags carried by flue gases and eliminates the undesirable liquid slag pouring of the lower beam heating tubes in boilers of conventional design.

Water is supplied to the screens 3, 3, 3 through pipes 8, which connect the boiler drum to the collector 9 connected to the lower ends of the screens, and the emulsion is drained from the collector 10 connected to the upper ends of the screens produced through pipes I.

The gases from the furnace located under the boiler move up one straight line through the gaps between the screens, pass through the superheater to the convection part of the boiler, and then pass through the flue 12 to economizers not shown in the drawing.
