Abstract
The intention of the invention is to design a safety electric switch which would respond, after inclusion into a respective electric circuit, either to excessive thermal overloads or to the occurrence of short circuit current within the circuit, by breaking the latter, where - especially in the case of the occurrence of short circuit current - the break of the circuit would be carried out much quicker and more reliably than in so far known switches of this kind. The switch comprises a casing (1) in whichthere are available an immovable contact (2) and a movable contact (3) that is operateable by means of a switch-off mechanism (5) which in turn is triggered by a trigger (4) and connected to a switching arm (6). In this context, the movable contact (3) is available as a one-piece designed lever, turnable around a pivotal point (30) available in the casing (1), which is swingable from the stable fitting position against the immovable contact (2) into the stably supported position at a displacement from thesaid immovable contact (3) and adapted for cooperation with the switch-off mechanism (5), namely either by means of a switching lever (51) or a striking lever (52) of the said mechanism (5).
