Abstract

A roof or deck cladding panel (500) and construction (600). Each cladding panel (500) has a light weight core material (200), with one or more channels formed by grooves (216, 218) extending across a bottom surface (214) of the core material (200). A rigid concrete casing (502) is formed over a top (204) and sides (206, 208; 210, 212) of the core material (200) and extends to the bottom edges of the core material (200). The grooves (216, 218) in the bottom (214) of the core material (200) extend through bottom portions of the rigid casing (502), forming at least one continuous channel across the bottom of the cladding panel (500). Thus, water beneath the cladding panel (500) is presented an open passage to flow to a drainage, eliminating the need to attempt to waterproof or seal the joints between cladding panels. The cladding panels are laid down directly onto a membrane (610) to protect the membrane, and are immediately ready for foot traffic.
