Abstract
Data transmission routes are created with the aid of a step-for-step resource reservation signal protocol which includes an internet control and management protocol (ICMP) for sending information. Independent claims are also included for (a) a method of providing end-to-end data transmission routes in a data transmission network with multiple nodes (b-d) and end terminals (A, E), using the step-for-step reservation signal protocol, (b) a router using this protocol, (c) an end terminal using this protocol, and (d) a data transmission system with a network containing one of these routers or end terminals.
