Abstract

The gas generator(5) and roof-mounted airbag(2) are flow-interconnected by a tubular element which represents a part of the vehicle's support structure. The tubular element has at least one opening in its generated surface providing a connection for the airbag, and has a plug located before and after the airbag connection. The tubular element may form the A-column(3) of the vehicle and preferably forms also a section of a roof support(4) connected to the A-column. The gas generator is fitted on the lower section of the A-column.
