Abstract

In at least one region (17) where an elastic is present, the liquid-permeable surface layer (3) is not bonded to the absorbent layer (2). A hygiene article such as a nappy, incontinence pad or sanitary towel has at least one elastic body following a curved path over areas of the absorbent layer and secured to the liquid-permeable surface layer. The stiffness of the absorbent layers is chosen so that the force exerted by the elastic body is absorbed by bending. In at least one region where an elastic body is present, the liquid-permeable surface layer is not bonded to the absorbent layer.
