Abstract

The material contains a mixture of a water-reducing agent and an air entraining agent. A chimney ramming material for lining chimneys, especially brick chimneys, comprises a cement binder, filler aggregate and a mixture of a water-reducing agent and an air entraining agent. Independent claims are also included for (a) the preparation of the material by adding colloidal silica to cement comprising sand and volcanic aggregates, then slowly adding most of the water, and then adding a water-reducing agent, followed by an air entraining agent, (b) the use of the material for lining (preferably brick) chimneys, and (c) chimneys lined with this material.
