Abstract

A low calibre projectile is used with the propellent charge centrally positioned. A shrapnel-generating projectile (1) comprises pieces of shrapnel (9), a case (11) surrounding the shrapnel pieces, and a detonator (6) for initiating the fragmentation charge (7). The projectile is shaped as a low calibre projectile with the propellent charge (8) located in a central axial position.
