Abstract

The tool includes a holder including on the one hand a blade part (3), with the upper side of which functions as an abutment surface (4) for a cutting insert (2) for metal cutting machining and on the other hand a recess (6), and is intended to receive a loose clamp (7) arranged to be able to push against the upper side of said cutting insert and clamp it firmly. The recess is so angled, that the side of the loose clamp which is turned towards the insert approaches said abutment surface (4) in a direction perpendicularly to the latter. The upper side of the cutting insert slopes in such a way , that the tip part (15) of the clamp is forced upwards when the loose clamp is displaced inwards into the recess. The tip part (15) of the clamp is forced progressively more upwards when the loose clamp is displaced inwards into the recess. The loose clamp (7) and the recess are provided with axially locking edge profiles which fit into each other.
